SWEEP CLEANS UP BROOK STREET
Swept Away with Helping the Environment
Sayville High School members of SWEEP (Students Working to Enhance Environmental Protection) recently made a concerted effort to clean up Brook Street. SWEEP Advisor Sonja Anderson explained, “The SWEEP club went out during tenth period and cleaned up garbage along Brook Street near the high school. It was a windy cold day but we were able to get three full bags of garbage.”
SWEEP continues to be an active Sayville High School club that has been committed to the preservation and restoration of the vast natural resources around the Sayville area through a variety of recycling programs, clean-up projects, water conservation, water pollution prevention, and public awareness of indigenous plants.
