A Special Dinner Treat for District Gold-Card Residents Returns After a Three-Year Hiatus

The Sayville Senior Citizens’ annual event hasn’t been possible since March of 2019.  So it was much more exciting when this year, the District Gold-Card Members were reunited for the annual After-Show dinner, hosted at Sayville High School.

Following 2022’s Sayville High School Musical, The Wedding Singer, Sayville Senior Citizens took a short stroll down the hall to the cafeteria, festooned with centerpieces and butterfly streamers decorated by NAHS- National Art Honor Society and their advisor Jen Berotti. Sayville Food and Nutrition catered the affair.  On the menu was tossed salad, rolls, Pasta Primavera, Sausage and Peppers, and Chicken Masala with roasted potatoes.

Sayville High School volunteer servers, dressed in formal black and white, politely attended to the needs of all their guests, while Meredith Albertelli provided soft background music on the keyboard. After both Sayville Superintendent Dr. John Stimmel and BOE Trustee Norm deVenau said a few words of greeting, the dessert of cake, cookies, and hot beverages were served.

The District Gold-Card Residents were overjoyed to be back and look forward to the next Gold-Card opportunity. Special thanks to High School Student Government Advisor Mrs. Katherine VanDorn and her student servers:
