Awards presented by Award-winning Newsday Sports Writer Gregg Sarra and Sayville Football Coach Reade Sands
During the January 13th Board meeting, Newsday's Award-winning Sports Writer Gregg Sarra presented two awards to two Sayville Football Players who earned the awards last spring. Due to pandemic restrictions at the time, the presentations were postponed until both young men, who returned for January break, could receive their awards in person:
(l-r) Sayville 2021 Defensive end Max Llewellyn won the Zellner Award as Suffolk’s top lineman. Sayville 2021 quarterback Jack Cheshire received Newsday's Carl A. Hansen Award, presented to Suffolk's most outstanding football player, after earning the honor during the spring 2021 football season.
