Girls Cross Win Suffolk County Championship

“Sayville Girls Cross Country team repeated as Suffolk County Champions on Friday in a thrilling victory over Shoreham Wading River,” Coach Tom Duffy reported. “It came down to a sixth-man tie-breaker where senior Callaghan Babcock bested Shoreham's sixth place finisher to secure the victory. The girls are now headed to the New York State Championship Meet next Saturday at Chenango Valley State Park. This adds to an already successful season that saw the girls finishing the season undefeated, capturing the League VI Championship and Section XI Division III Team Championship.
