Middle School Annual Volleyball Competition-Fundraiser
January 11, 2022
“Well done is better than well said,” is a quote attributed to Benjamin Franklin. And every year, the Middle School Annual Purple vs. Gold Charity Girls Volleyball event, held in mid-January, puts words into action as a fundraiser for a worthy cause—this year for local families in need. In fulfillment of the Purple vs. Gold Volleyball motto: “Good People Do Something,” all the girls who had practiced every day in anticipation of this opportunity for all to play, showed they understood the impact of doing something good for others. Thanks to the efforts of the team, their Coaches Urso, Termotto, and McLoughlin—who originally created this event—and the Sayville Middle School community, the January 11th 2022 athletic competition raised over $ 2,661.00 in donations and gift cards.
Principal Dr. Joseph Castoro expressed great pride in the team, coaches and “entire school community for coming together for a great cause!”
