Sayville Student Places Sixth in Long Island Alliance National Quiz Bowl
Will Kretz Impresses at Quiz Bowl Competition
On February 19th, National History Club and Rho Kappa members participated in The Long Island Alliance National Quiz Bowl at Smithtown West High School. Challenging questions were selected from a multitude of topics ranging from academic to pop culture. Sayville Team members were Will Kretz, Sophia Sanchez, Maggie Mongiello, Gene Weng, Nicholas Linss, and Ryan Dong. Will Kretz placed 6th out of 115 contestants in the individual score category. As a first-time competitor in this event, Will’s ranking was an impressive accomplishment.
“I am so proud of these students,” said Mrs. Susan Hart, Social Studies teacher as well as History Club and Rho Kappa advisor, “and look forward to future competitions!”
