Sayville VEI Students Attend Invitation-Only 2022 Youth Business Summit Showcase at LIU

Recently, Sayville High School’s two Virtual Enterprises International firms—Life on a Limb and Aquatic Oasis—attended the 2022 Youth Business Summit's Business Showcase at Long Island University – Brooklyn Campus.

The Virtual Enterprises International Business Showcase recognizes some of the best and brightest student leaders and budding entrepreneurs in the country. Attendance is by invitation-only and based upon the firms’ qualifications in the National Business Plan Competition, National Finance Competition, National Human Resources Competition, National Marketing Competition, and/or National QuickBooks Competition.

Sayville VEI teacher and VEI firms’ advisor, Hannah Michaelson, reported that both Life on a Limb and Aquatic Oasis participated in the “Sales Pitch” and “Booth Design” competitions and demonstrated their skills in promoting and selling their products to guest shoppers. “The Sayville students interacted with firms all across the country as well as with some international firms in other countries, including Austria. Both firms did extremely well and together, totaled over $650,000 in sales.”

As the students prepare both to close out this year and to transition into the next, Mrs. Michaelson was full of praise for this year’s firms. “Congratulations to all of the employees at both Life on a Limb and Aquatic Oasis. I am so proud of how far you have come this year.”
