Sayville High School’s two Virtual Enterprises International firms, Life on a Limb and Aquatic Oasis competed in the national Design for Delight (D4D) competition on November 18. To participate in this D4D competition, two employees from each firm were challenged to problem-solve while utilizing Design Thinking and Intuit’s Design for Delight (D4D)’s three principles—Deep Customer Empathy, Go Broad to Go Narrow, and Rapid Experimentation.

“The Sayville students presented how they used D4D’s three principles to develop their business idea and products/services,” Sayville’s VEI teacher Hannah Michaelson reported.  “Employees who competed from Life on a Limb were Frankie Puccio, Chief Technology Officer and Brett Geffner, Chief Strategy Officer. Employees who competed from Aquatic Oasis were Jackson Neugebauer, Chief Technology Officer and Evan Cataldo Chief Strategy Officer. All four of these students did an incredible job preparing for this competition and presenting themselves as business leaders.”

On a competitive role, both firms are participating in the virtual Long Island Regional Trade Show, scheduled for November 19th, and on December 9th they will be participating in the virtual National Trade Show.

Best of luck, Sayville VEI teams!
