Student Musicians Enhance English Lit Classes With Zeffirello’s Theme from Romeo and Juliet
After Tracey Trentowski’s Ninth-grade English Honors class had completed reading the Shakespearean play Romeo and Juliet, they were given a special treat. Six of Mrs. Kerri VanBoxel’s band musicians, who also take the English class, performed the Romeo and Juliet theme from Franco Zeffirelli's 1968 film. “The ensemble practiced together under the direction of Kerri VanBoxel,” Mrs. Trentowski enthused, “to give their classmates this special performance. These talented musicians took additional time out of their school day to rehearse for this event.”
The talented and dedicated students enhanced the class’ appreciation of the famous tragedy with their unforgettable—“softest music to attending ears!”— performance. Bravo!
