Building Bridges with ARt

Sayville Art Department Chairperson Deb Urso reported that several teachers and forty-three student artists showcased their work at the recent "Building Bridges" benefit for the AHRC. 

 

The two-hour reception held on October 28 took place at the AHRC greenhousea 115-year-old structure that had been revitalized as a worksite for adults with disabilities. The greenhouse is adjacent to the West Sayville Country Club and LT. Michael P. Murphy Navy SEAL Museum in West Sayville. Works by professional artists as well as student art from Sayville Schools, Bayport Schools, Sachem Schools, South Side HS (Rockville Centre) and Long Beach High School, were on display for purchase.  Art patrons would also receive a free plant from the greenhouse with every purchase.

 

Below are the names of the Sayville High School Visual Arts students who were among the artists from several school districts to exhibit their art:  Anna Reilly, Sophia Bertsch, Audrey Bertsch, Mia Lombardo, Gianna Mirro, Evan McGlinchey, Brody Tellier, Casey Pascarella, Abigail Carberry, Morgan Carberry, Lily Coan, Megan Dailey, Emma Dean-Stahl, Asher DeVerna, Noa DiNapoli, Collen Doyle, James Erickson, Grace Garbarino, Molly Giordano, Morgan Giordano, Ava Gustafson, Emily Helbock, Sara Jaklitsch, Avery Lazarus, Jacob McCabe, Sadie Nelson, Owen Parrott, Nicholas Rampulla, Jackie Wetzel, Summer O’Brien, Matt Luffman, Sophia Lorenzo, Ava Sanchez, Jack D’Andrea, Jolei Whalen , Kate VanBoxel , Faith Cummings, Reese Kelly, Morgan Reese, Link Loasiga, Niyah Fortunato, Caitlyn King, Guilietta Imperato, staff  Evan Hammer and John Verschure. 

 

The show had been organized by Sayville’s BOE member and Nassau BOCES CCA Assistant Principal, Dr. James Bertsch, Jr.
