Our Sayville Middle School Physical Education staff provided our students with an incredible experience by integrating Frisbee Golf into the fall units.  While on a PE-field trip to Heckscher State Park, the Middle School students learned skills, technique, strategy, and etiquette regarding the game by playing the challenging Heckscher course and applied those skills learned to real-world authentic experiences.

“Students walked the course and played 14 of the 21 holes!” Athletic Director Dr. Ryan Cox enthused.  “As I had the opportunity to attend, I saw our students smiling, socializing, being active, and appreciating the opportunity.  Additionally, they kept track of all their steps for the day to assess the physical fitness aspect of the game. Kudo to our Middle School PE staff, Gary Jensen, Tom Meier, Erin Rymer, and Matt Slinkosky for putting this together!”
