Sayville Extended School Year Hosts Sensory Day

On Wednesday, July 26, Sayville Extended School Year hosted a Sensory Day during which students had the opportunity to construct their very own play dough with a variety of ingredients and materials. 

Throughout the course of the activity, students were able to stimulate curiosity, learn through experimentation, exercise their in-hand manipulation skills, and enhance their social abilities. 

Extended School Year is an instructional program where special education students are able to continue to receive their services in the summer months. The program offers a type of learning designed to help students reach & maintain skills aligned with their IEP goals.  Additionally, ESY also incorporates enrichment activities, such as Sensory Days, to offer Sayville students a fun and rewarding summer experience.
