Sayville High School Enjoyed a Cultural Exchange In-Person with Two Students from France

October 20, 2022

“Sayville High School was fortunate to have a visit from two very special students from France,” World Language Teacher Christine Richter recently reported. “Sayville worked in concert with Bayport Blue Point High School to share time with the students who were spending four days with local host families.  Both Jeanne Barreré-Leclu and Emma Occhiminuti-Salzman were treated to a fun weekend of Sayville shopping, local festivals, and, of course, the weekend’s varsity football game.  During the school day, Jeanne and Emma were able to experience all that Sayville High School had to offer, including a welcoming party hosted by the French classes in our World Languages Department.  Our students and guests had wonderful conversations while enjoying traditional American snacks. The visit culminated in a question-answer period where the classes were able to communicate with Jeanne and Emma in French and learn about life in Toulouse, France.  It was a wonderful experience for all and we would like to thank the Restivo and McCabe families for giving their time and hospitality to welcome these two wonderful young women.”
