Sayville Community

Sayville and West Sayville together form a place of tradition, where history is appreciated, community celebrations are held and education is supported. This six-square-mile community is comprised of people, young and old, who have put down roots and believe in working for a better village, town and school district. A friendly hamlet of beautiful homes and clean streets in the southeast portion of Islip Town on the Great South Bay, Sayville consists of approximately 25,000 residents, an active Chamber of Commerce and an excellent school district which, in June, 1995, graduated its 100th senior class.

Sayville boasts a Historic Society, Garden Club, Village Improvement Society, Civic Association, Pilot Club, Kiwanis, Rotary, Lions, and Lioness Clubs. As well as the weekly newspaper, the Suffolk County News, which was founded over 110 years ago. Known across the Island for its family-oriented Summerfest held in August, this waterfront community has easy access to the renowned Fire Island beaches as well as to all major arteries between New York City and Montauk Point, the Long Island Railroad and Islip Airport. Sayville's canals and marine dockage attract many residents, as does the proximity to cultural, sport, entertainment and higher educational facilities. Add to this picture two large hospitals nearby and outstanding restaurants and it's easy to say Sayville has it all!
